The aim and the dream behind the Books10Solutions portal of Point10Solultions portfolio, is to solely help, fund and aid needy students by extending a helping hand for them to move a step further in life.
This portal is not meant for any lucrative business ideas, but to motivate students to come forward, be a part of this dream, and help Point10 to perform as a medium through which needy students can shine and excel in their endeavors of further studies.
The team at Point10Solutions is not looking for great money transfers, but is looking for pro-active help and support to realize these efforts and give a message to the society about stepping forward and helping others.
The mantra is quite simple - We want to encourage people to come forward and help one student by funding his/her books for 1 year. The maximum cost for that would be Rs. 5000 which is not a big amount for all those who don’t think twice before spending lot of bucks for expensive items and sometime unnecessary things. For people who are into all kinds of businesses, jobs and other activities, this 5000 Rs (which is the maximum amount) will surely not be a question to ponder upon. We expect a large amount of support from the experienced service professionals who have been in the industry for the past 3+ years, who themselves might have come across a lot of students/friends who had to suffer due to lack of funds for a basic necessity like books. Books10Solutions thus wants to put forward a notion to all individuals out there, in regards to funding books for at-least one student every year.
For example, if you fund the books of a student studying in the 5th semester, then the same books will be used by the 3rd semester students next year. So simply put, this chain of kindness will go on forever, but the most amazing thing is to realize how many needy students would be benefited due to such an event in place. As we say at Point10, we are just a medium through which others can be benefited.
We would be appointing such needy students, (who will be getting the benefits from this project) as Books10 Project Consultants. They will hold that position for 1 year. During that period we will personally monitor their progress and make them believe that the way we are helping you, you should help others whenever you get a chance to do so. Giving these students the much necessary platform, environment and the resources would help them in terms of stepping a foot in the industry and being competitive.
Books10Solutions web portal is a platform where students can easily find the books that they require and also sell their old books to other students. We would be developing a database and try to build up a Web2.0 type application for students to register, have their own account, browse for their required books, look through the profiles of students who are willing to sell their books etc to encompass a complete eco-system.
We want to create an Ecosystem where everyone thinks that proactively they should put in some efforts to help others. Thus we plan on designating a first batch of students as Books10 Project Consultants to help us build the database, promote our ideology in various colleges and more importantly start growing this dream of ours with all their efforts.
Even as we speak, the Books10 project is gaining momentum. We already have a number of people who have come forward voluntarily and have agreed upon funding 1 student for 1 year. We expect the current number of 25 such pro-active members to grow exponentially as many more will get interested in this project of funding books.
Books10.Org project is our step towards Social Empowerment. We want to involve as many people as possible. We want pro-active members who can share our vision and help us bring our dream to reality.

Books10Solutions - Implementation Plan !
The Books10Solutions Project implementation plan has been taking shape and we expect to put it to full use soon enough.
(a) To begin with the Point10Solultions Team would select 10 students each from the following 10 engineering colleges from Gujarat:
L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad Institute of Technology, Ognaj-Gota, Ahmedabad
Indus Institute of Technology and Engineering , Rancharda, Ahmedabad
Nirma University , Ahmedabad
Ganpat University, Ahmedabad
Government Engineering College, Chandkheda, Gandhinagar
Charotar Institute of Technology, Changa, Dist. Anand
DDIT , Nadiad
Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Vasad
Faculty of Engineering and Technology, M S University, Baroda
(b) Ideally most of the students that we would be selecting would be from the 3rd Semester GTU (Gujarat Technological University). Because it would be the first 3rd semester batch of GTU, whatever books they need, same would be needed (for at least another 4-5 years) for their juniors as well.
(c) We have already appointed Point10 Consultants in these colleges (mainly 7th Sem students), who will help us to identify the right students and will carry our ideology into their respective campuses.
(d) Selection of students will be done based on their economic condition, faculty recommendation, their willingness to be part of our ideology to proactively help others etc. We would also personally talk/meet with the students to select the needy scholars.
(e) Selection of students will begin from the 1st week of July, which will be completed by 15th July. We would be doing a bulk purchase of the books in the last week of July for all the students who have been shortlisted. Bulk Purchase will help us get a better discount from Book Shop!
(f) Selected students will be appointed as Point10 Consultants, for the management of Books. We will also request the universities/colleges libraries for the management of the books given to students.
(g) We will be personally monitoring these shortlisted students who are getting the benefit from this project and make sure that our ideology is being carried further through the colleges.
(h) Our aim is to build a proactive Eco-system. We would be paying regular visits to the engineering colleges for Mentorship programs. In this program we would be mentioning the details of Young Professionals (who are willing to proactively help/guide students as and when required) of Books10 project. So students can have easy direct access to industry professionals to seek any kind of guidance/help. We will hold programming competitions, public speaking competitions in the colleges just to help improve skills of students.
(i) We have already done the market research to make sure which books are required as per the syllabus in different engineering colleges.

Diamond Workers Step Forward for Funding Books !
Firstly, I would like to thank all those who have been constantly supporting our vision, helping us by all means realize our dream and for their never tiring efforts in making this ideology take shape.
·We are delighted with the gesture shown by some Diamond workers living in Bapunagar Area, the eastern part of Ahmedabad. If you read newspapers regularly then you can really understand the kind of financial problems faced by these people. There are six people currently, who have shown their interest to “Fund Books for 1 Student for 1 Year”. When we promote this idea, we mean to say that, we would be giving Rs. 2000 to the student to purchase his/her syllabus books.
·Some of Point10Solutions personal contacts and friends from Chennai, Goa, and Pune also would be “Funding Books” for engineering students from Gujarat, just to spread the message to the Society.
·Ideally we would be funding the books from next Semester which starts from June/July. Most of the students that we would select would be from 3rd Semester GTU (Gujrat Technological University). Because it would be the first 3rd SEM batch of GTU. So whatever the subjects/books they need, same would be needed (for atleast another 4-5 years) for their juniors as well.
·Our target is to fund books for 1000 students, as of now we are in a position to Fund books for atleast 100 students.
·Selection of students will be based on their Economic condition, Faculties recommendation, their willingness to be part of our ideology to proactively help others etc.
·Also we would mention the details of Young Professionals (who are willing to proactively help/guide students as and when required). So students can have easy direct access to industry professionals to seek any kind of guidance/help.

Books10Solutions - Our Progress !
We have received unimaginable response from all over the world for our vision. We would like to thank all the people who really believed in our ideology and guided us on our endeavors. Please keep the suggestions coming as we look forward to improvising our dreams.
1.Our technical team (Hiren Panchasara (San Jose, California), Harshal Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat), and Dharmesh Kubavat (New York City, New York) is working very hard to get our initial message on the web asap.
2.Since we are getting many valuable suggestions and feedback we had to redesign some of the functionalities.
3. Our initial message will at least include the following:
> Our Management Team - Our team.
> Advisory Board – We would like to invite prominent people from the Industry and Education fraternity to come forward and be a part of our ideology and guide us.
> Books10 Project Consultants – This includes students whom we would be helping by funding the books and the students who want to be part of our ideology.
> Contributors – People who have contributed to this project by funding the books for students or giving any other help.
> Acknowledgement – People who are helping us in our projects.
> Student registration – Students can register here and share their problems/concerns with us.
> I want to contribute section – You can click on the various buttons to let us know how you want to be part of this ideology.
4. "Fund Books for 1 Student for 1 Year" message is spreading. Till now the count is 65 and is increasing everyday. We would list all the names in the portal once its ready. Ideally we wanted to launch the portal on 20th March. But due to some additional valuable suggestions (for good) it may take another week or so. Meanwhile students can send email to us for any suggestions.
5. Also we would like to invite Young Professionals to come forward and be a part of our ideology. We would be more than happy to help them with the project plan and how to go about it!
6. We are extremely thankful to Ms. Shraddha Singh to publish our story in Ahd Mirror which really helped us to spread our ideology.

Books10 Solutions - Our Progress !
Thanks for your overwhelming response. Following are the points that we would like to mention about Books10Solultions project.
- It is more of an ideology than a great WEB 2.O product. Anyhow we will develop a highly intelligent web portal.
- We intend to launch the Books10Solutions portal on 20th March 2009. Our initial message would be to have a list of students whom we are funding the books, list of people who want to contribute to this project. Also we will have the student registration forms. Students just need to register themselves and share the problems that they face. We would be more than happy to help them if we are in a position to do so.
- As of now we have received the funding to fund books for 25 students from various engineering institutes from Gujarat. We would request students to register themselves with us. Even if we cannot fund the books to the additional students we will be more than happy to assist them.
- We have already started the Market research analysis and gathered information for Books for GTU. We would request students to come forward and be a part of our ideology.
- Our intensions are to fund the books from the next semester which starts from June-July 2009.
- As we are getting very good response from various quarters of our society (Corporate Houses, Media Fraternity, Professors, Young professionals), we will have considerable amount of Books to fund.
- We would hope that Universities, Colleges, and Industrialists take such initiatives and provide the basic education needs to the needy students.
